مذبحة الأبرياء هي مذبحة قام بها هيرودس الكبير ذكرت في إنجيل متى ( 2 : 16-18) ولم تذكر في أناجيل أخرى
يقص متى أن الملك هرودس أمر بذبح كل الأولاد الذكور في بيت لحم ليتجنب فقدان ملكه إلى "ملك اليهود" المولود الذي أعلن المجوس ولادته
لا يعتبر معظم مؤرخي سيرة هيرودس في العصر الحديث القصة كحدث تاريخي حقيقي

The commemoration of the massacre of these "Holy Innocents" first appears as a feast of the western church in the Leonine Sacramentary, dating from about 485 and The date of Holy Innocents' Day, also called Childermas or Children's Mass, varies

Pranks are known as inocentadas and their victims are called inocentes, or alternatively, the pranksters are the "inocentes" and the victims should not be angry at them, since they could not have committed any sin
الشيء اللافت للنظر أنهم يحتفلون بهذا اليوم والإحتفال في بلدان أسبانيا وأمريكا اللاتينية يكون يوم 28 ديسمبر حيث يعتبرون هذا اليوم يوم للمزاح تماما مثل كذبة أبريل والضحايا لا ينبغي أن يغضب عليهم نظرا لأنهم لم يرتكبوا إثما !!!

والسؤال الذي يحيرني فعلا لماذا هذا الإنفصام لدى الغرب فهم في حياتهم العادية يكرهون الكذب تماما مثل المسلمين ولكن يحتفلوا في أيام محددة مثل أول إبريل و يوم الأبرياء بنشر الأكاذيب
